Due Friday August 26th...
Due Friday August 26th by midnight is your proposal for your semester of Directed Study. Included should be a detailed description of the projects and research that you plan to accomplish by the end of the semester as well as a general timeline for their accomplishment. Students must meet with their Directed Study Faculty Adviser to discuss the proposal and timeline by Friday, September 2nd at the latest.
General Course Description:
*This is a directed study course covering large scale projects related to the completion of your major requirements. As such, this course will differ slightly for Graphic Design majors, IIT majors, and Digital BFA majors.
*All students must meet with the faculty member to discuss and agree upon a course of study for the term by the end of the second week of classes. After the initial meeting between the student and the faculty member, all students will meet individually with the professor a total four times over the course of the semester, roughly every four weeks.
*All students will also make two presentations of their work to the class, the first during weeks 7, 8, 9, the second during weeks 13, 14, 15. During this time, attendance is required for all students during the meeting and presentation period, MW 8:30 - 11:15.
*All students will maintain a blog with weekly updates on their project progress, related research, and faculty meetings. There should be a total of 10 posts related strictly to research. Responses to faculty meetings will include conversation content summaries as well as interpretations and responses. There should be a total of five separate posts relating to faculty meetings. There should be a total of 14 posts related to project progress. There should be a total of five separate posts relating to faculty meetings. There should be a total of 10 posts related strictly to research. This is a total of 29 separate blog posts.
